36 Pampanga villages still flooded

BACOLOR -- At least 36 Pampanga villages have been flooded Friday, August 10, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The flooded barangays include two villages in Apalit, 14 in Masantol, and 20 barangays in Macabebe.

Flooding has been reported in most areas due to monsoon rains and high tide.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported that P10,390,213.44 worth of rice crops from Magalang, Guagua, Apalit and Candaba towns have been damaged.

Farmers in Apalit town took the biggest loss with P5,780,360 worth of rice crops, followed by Candaba with P3,208,553.60, Guagua with P1,069,115.04, and Magalang with P332,184.80.

The flooding had also affected some 5,298 families or 18,552 individuals.

The PDRRMO and various disaster response units are on standby for more possible flooding.
