PLANTED with the seeds of unity and peace for quite some time, Davao City is now reaping prosperous harvest as it once again celebrates Kadayawan Festival – the unity and the diversity among the city’s 11 tribes.

Being in the spotlight of Kadayawan, the tribes showcase the best from their culture, food, clothing, music, and their tribal houses located inside Magsaysay Park’s Kadayawan Village.

Since 2017, Kadayawan Village has become a must visit spot in the city, a cultural appreciation hub for both tourists and locals. It displays the diverse culture and customs of the Lumad and Muslim inhabitants of the city.

Last August 2, 2019, hundreds of people visited the Kadayawan Village for the opening of the 34th Kadayawan Festival. Subang Sinugdanan, a reenactment of the coming and origin of the tribes in Davao City was the event’s highlight.

The celebration is just starting as the city spread the different major events for the month to cater to more visitors.

The festival has a lot to offer for the people, from food, entertainment, and shopping. But make sure to make a quick stop at Magsaysay Park to visit Kadayawan Village especially on Saturdays to witness the performance of different tribes during Bantawan Cultural celebration for an all in one Davao-filled Kadayawan experience.
