THE Public Employment Service Office (Peso) has vowed for a more efficient and reliable database of manpower and skills in the province of Iloilo.

This after the Banco de Oro (BDO) donated 45 computers to the Iloilo Provincial Government Friday, August 9.

The ceremonial turnover was led by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., BDO Senior Vice President Geneva T. Gloria, Peso head Francisco Heler Jr. and Provincial Administrator Suzette Mamon.

The hardware will be distributed to 42 towns and one component city, while the remaining two will be utilized by Peso in implementing the electronic Manpower and Skills Registry System (eMSRS).

eMSR is a local repository on available manpower supply in the province.

Heler said that while the system is already available, it could not be fully implemented among municipalities due to limited hardware.

Defensor recognized the various help extended by the private sector, especially in managing the spread of dengue disease.

He thanked the BDO for assisting the province in improving its employment facilitation for jobseekers.

“We want to create a database at the barangay level. Like how many nursing and commerce graduates they have. So that they will be ready to match the opportunities,” Defensor said.

Gloria said they will explore more partnership opportunities with the province of Iloilo.

“In the past years, we have been getting a lot of support from the Office of the Governor and also the Peso. Hopefully, this is not the end. There is a lot of opportunities that we can do together,” she said.

Peso has previously partnered with BDO in the former’s Migration and Development Initiative program, which caters to overseas Filipino workers and their families. It also helped promote among the Capitol employees the firm's programs like the BDO Kabayan Savings.

BDO is also a constant partner of Peso in the conduct of job fairs and job referrals. (PR)
