PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula cited with 3 awards

TWO units and an officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula were accorded with awards as the best among others in their category during the 118th Police Service Anniversary Friday, August 9.

Police Major Helen Galvez, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula said the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) was awarded as the Best City Police office in the entire country while Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-Zamboanga Peninsula was awarded as the Best Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

President Rodrigo Duterte, who was the guest speaker of the 118th Police Service Anniversary, led the awarding ceremony.

Galvez said the awards were received by Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, ZCPO director, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Mardito Angguluan, RMFB-9 director.

She said President Duterte has awarded Medalya ng Kasanayan and Achievement Award to Police Captain Allan Benedict Rosete, who was adjudged as the Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations.

During the ceremony, President Duterte has called upon the Philippine National Police (PNP) to keep its integrity intact as it upholds the highest ethical and professional standards in public service.

The President has also lauded the PNP for its strong campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and other forms of terrorism as well as the efforts in internal cleansing in the PNP.

Galvez said the Zamboanga Peninsula with the leadership of Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, is proud of the awardees’ achievement and will also be recognized for their meritorious act.

This year’s anniversary celebration was anchored on the theme “Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino.” (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
