Sultan, Jerusalem in Pinoy Pride

FORMER world title challengers Jonas Sultan and Melvin Jerusalem are featured in the main card of the return of the long-running Pinoy Pride series on Aug. 17 at the Ormoc Superdome in Ormoc City.

Coming off a loss, Sultan hopes to bounce back against Salatiel Amit in a 10-rounder.

Sultan lost his latest contest on April 28, 2019 by unanimous decision against Athenkosi Dumezweni in South Africa.

Like Sultan, Amit is also coming off a defeat to Jakkrawut Majoogoen by unanimous decision last January 25, 2019.

Sultan is 15-5 with nine knockouts, while Amit is 11-6-2 with eight knockouts

Jerusalem, on the other hand, has an easier assignment against Reymark Taday. Jerusalem has won his last three fights since losing to Joey Canoy. Jerusalem is 14-2 with eight knockouts, while Taday is 9-9-1 with four knockouts.

In the main event, Albert Pagara (31-1, 22 KOs) faces hard-hitting Thai Ratchanon Sawangsoda (12-3, 12 KOs), while Jeo Santisima (17-2, 14 KOs) takes on Indonesian Alvius Maufani (6-3-2, 3 KOs). (EKA)
