ANGELES CITY - A premier shopping mall here held an earthquake preparedness drill to test the alertness of its tenants and customers.
SM City Clark (SMCK) joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on Thursday, August 8, as witnessed by the Bureau of Fire Protection in Angeles City and the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Venus Manalang, public relations manager at SMCK, said the earthquake drill is done quarterly to check on the alertness and awareness of the mall’s staff, tenants including customers.
“It is a way to make sure that everyone inside the mall knows how to duck, cover and hold during an earthquake,” Manalang said.
Manalang said SMCK has created a crisis management team that will carry out safety measures including rescue operations in case a calamity occurs.
Manalang added that customer and tenant safety has always been a priority of the mall.
