THIRD District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. led on Friday, August 9, the inauguration of the two-story multipurpose building in Malino Village, Mexico town.

Gonzales and village officials of Malino formally opened to the public the P2-million building which will be used for village events and other civic functions.

The lawmaker personally saw through the funding of the said building as part of his earlier campaign pledge to bring more infrastructure projects in Mexico and other towns and the lone city of his district.

“This has always been part of our personally advocacy to bring in much needed facilities and projects like roads, bridges and buildings to spur development in various barangays (villages),” Gonzales said.

Gonzales had been instrumental in the construction of dozens of roads, buildings and covered courts in Mexico. Latest of his projects is the 1.5-kilometer San Jose Malino-Anao bypass road that had cut travel time between villages Anao and San Jose Malino.

The lawmaker also urged village leaders to identify need infrastructure developments in their respective areas so that these could be studied and recommended for funding. Gonzales said that vital road networks in his district are currently in works.

He added that opening new road networks is essential in meeting with Mexico town’s rapid development.

Gonzales added that a district that looks into the development of adequate road networks would reap the benefits of proper urban planning in the long run.
