WE CAN readily get waylaid by the P3.5 million pesos lost every day as a result of traffic congestion, thus missing the correlation between population and traffic congestion.

It has been a while since the government tackled the issue of overpopulation and population control. Quality of life is rarely discussed. Some of our rights as citizens of this country are overlooked.

The proposed legislative measure will cover compensation should there be a breakdown of public transportation like the MRT or LRT wherein passengers are forced to walk and sweat it out under dangerous conditions. This, in effect, will promote better maintenance of our public transportation facilities, otherwise the government could be held liable.
Pangilinan also pointed out the disparity between the road users and the roads provided vis-à-vis private vehicles and public transport.
