FIVE persons were arrested, while some P639,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized in two separate drug operations conducted in Cebu City early Monday morning, August 12, 2019.
The Labangon and Calamba police nabbed a certain Dahlia Ducay, 26, and Joseph Hernane, 49, in Sitio Mahayahay 2, Barangay Calamba 2, Cebu City around 12:10 a.m Monday, August 12.
According to Police Corporal Keth Vincent Gabica, investigator on case, Ducay and Hernane are both under the Cebu City’s drug watch list.
Ducay yielded one seven medium and one large sachets of shabu, a coin purse, one digital weighing scale, and a P200 bill.
Recovered from Hernane were two medium sachets of shabu. The two yielded a total of 58 grams worth P394,400, a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value.
Just five hours after, operatives of the Labangon Police Station conducted another drug bust at Filter Site, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City that resulted to the arrest of three suspected drug users and pushers, including a habal-habal driver.
The suspects were identified as Francis Pabalate, 36, Vincent Yuson,31, and Nestor Casas, 43.
The three yielded 36 grams of suspected shabu with a DDB value of P244,800.
They will face charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Cebu)
