THE main office of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) in Purok Himaya, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City was ransacked during the standoff Friday, August 9, and missing were official receipts and official receipt/certificate of registration (OR/CRs) for the bus units, as well as land titles.

Lawyer Norman Golez, legal counsel of Leo Rey Yanson, said the company office had been ransacked by unidentified individuals last Friday prior to their takeover.

Based on their initial auditing and inventory over the weekend, Golez said they have confirmed that around 3,000 OR/CRs for their bus units and 800 land titles are unaccounted for and are presumed stolen.

Aside from the missing documents, several computer units and hard drives are also reported missing.

A search of the headquarters compound also yielded several molotov cocktails, improvised clubs, and axes.

It was later decided that some areas that have yet to be searched will be cordoned off for the safety of the workers.

He also confirmed that all bus units stored inside the Dynamic Builders compound in Barangay Alijis have been recovered, although some of the units' tires have been deflated.

"This is clearly an act of sabotage," Leo Rey said.

In a press conference Saturday, August 10, Leo Rey acknowledged the Philippine National Police's (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (Sosia) and Highway Patrol Group for seeing the truth and proving to everyone that the rule of law prevails.

Leo Rey also thanked his employees and the public for their continuous support, as well as his mother, Olivia Yanson.

Olivia added during the press conference that her four children are still welcome if they want to reach out to her.

However, she said should they meet with her, she must have a lawyer on her side, insisting that her shares be given to her.

Despite the recovery of Leo Rey of the whole operations of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, legal cases that were both filed against each other will continue.

The group of Roy Yanson, eldest of the Yanson siblings, has filed a Writ of Amparo before the Supreme Court against the PNP, Sosia, and CIDG officials for what they claim as an "overkill" operation. (TDE/CNC)
