THE Holiday Gym and Spa will hold the 2nd Media 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament and 4th Annual Healthy Living Walk on March 13 and 28, respectively.

HGS chief executive officer (CEO) Ivy Fernandez said they welcome all media teams to join "as long as a player works for a media outlet whether he is a writer or not, he is eligible to join."

Fernandez, gracing the regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn yesterday, said they have already sent out invitations to local major and minor publications, radio stations and TV networks.

"This is a first-come, first-served basis registration since we will only accept 10 teams. Each team shall be composed of four players. Registration fee is P500 per team inclusive of jerseys and light snacks. The champion team will receive gym membership and massage certificates," Fernandez said.

She said it is their way of getting media personnel get into active lifestyle by engaging into sports.

GMA is the defending champion.

The HGS Healthy Living Walk, meanwhile, is an eight-kilometer event set in an out-and-back course from Victoria Plaza.

"This walk-for-a-cause will benefit the House of Hope, a half-way house for children with cancer. We are happy that we were able to attract 800 walkers last year. We are expecting 1,000 this year. The more walkers, the bigger aid we can give to House of Hope," Fernandez said.

She explained that the P10 registration fee of every walker will be given to HOH. HGS will also donate the same amount raised from the total of registration fees. (MLSA)
