Kin of victims slain by NPA seek justice anew

THE family of the victims of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Moises Padilla ask anew Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año to conduct a thorough investigation into the killings that happened in the town from 2009 to 2019.

“This is the second time we wrote you regarding our concerted effort to seek for justice and reparation for the deaths of our loved ones,” the families said in their letter appeal to Ano dated August 9.

They also attached in their letter the sworn statement of Noli Garinngo, a former member of the NPA and husband of Ma. Luisita Garinngo, Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) chair of Moises Padilla and a member of the NPA court.

“We hope that you will give us an even better hope by giving this recent development in the unsolved cases of our loved ones your utmost attention and time,” the families appealed.

“Garinngo himself positively pointed at Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo and Vice Mayor Adrian “Ian” Villaflor as the brains behind the killings and participation of SB member Moreto Flores and Jimmy Don Plaza,” the families further stated.

They also added that they believe in the authority of Ano to look and delve into the matter and investigate the links of the said public officials to the rebel armed group. (TDE)
