Police ready raps vs Gaisano City Mall robbers

THE investigators of Police Station 8 in Bacolod City are now preparing the robbery charges to be filed against the suspects who robbed the two jewelry stores inside Gaisano City Grand Mall last week.

Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8, said they are waiting for the documents from the complainants so they can file the charges against the suspects.

He said of more than 10 suspects, three of them were identified as a certain Kenneth, Philip, and their leader Marlon Parohinog, all residents of Ozamiz City.

On August 7, more than 10 unidentified assailants, who were armed with long and short firearms, destroyed the stall glasses of Haoling Jewelry Store and F&C Pawnshop and Jewelry Store using a hammer and carted away P4.5 million worth of jewelry at Gaisano City Grand Mall.

The three suspects were identified through the footages of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras of the mall and the statement of the witnesses.

Gever said they are still conducting further investigation to identify the companions of the suspects.

Bacolod City Police Office director Police Colonel Henry Biñas earlier said that he already ordered all the station chiefs to intensify its visibility patrol and to alert the business establishments within their areas of jurisdiction.

“It’s an isolated case, but we need to address this problem,” he said.
