P1.2M worth of marijuana confiscated

AT LEAST P1.2 million worth of marijuana were confiscated in a drug bust in Don Salvador Benedicto, Sunday, August 11.

Police identified the suspect as Jonas Alvios, 50, a resident of Purok Saging in Barangay Igmaya-an.

Don Salvador Benedicto town police chief, Police Captain Jerald Muya, said they made their move against Alvios after he sold one plastic bag of dried marijuana leaves to an undercover cop in exchange for P500.

When police searched the area where the bust was made, they recovered three white sacks containing dried marijuana leaves, and 120 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants,

Muya estimated the weight of the recovered dried marijuana leaves at eight kilos valued at P960,000 while the 120 pieces of marijuana plants is valued at P158,400.

Alvios is facing illegal drugs charges and he is detained at the Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police Station. (TDE)
