Yanson matriarch, Leo Rey deny plan to sell VTI

OLIVIA V. Yanson, the matriarch of the Yanson family and son, Leo Rey, president and chief executive officer of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies (YGBC), on Tuesday, August 13, vehemently denied the claims of Emily Yanson of the impending sale of the YGBC to the highest bidder.

The four Yanson siblings: Roy, Emily, Ricky, and Celina on Monday revealed that the real reason for attack of Vallacar Transit, Inc. (VTI) offices is that Leo Rey, their youngest sibling, wants to sell the company and that they are not giving up the fight for the legacy of their father.

Emily said she strongly believes that her youngest brother wanted nothing more than to sell the company of her father.

“Remember, Leo Rey even remarked that he offered Roy to just break the company apart by a toss of a coin,” she said.

“While we want nothing more than preserve this company, Leo Rey is subverting a company which he co-owns as a director for his own personal interests,” added Emily.

Olivia, came to Leo Rey’s defense, saying “Why would he sell Vallacar Transit when he has devoted his life to make our business grow and led us to where we are today. It is totally unfair for Emily to spread lies when she had benefited tremendously from Leo Rey’s hard work and dedication. He devoted his time to the business and to our family. He did his best to be fair to all of you and this is how you repay him?”

Olivia said, “Emily always claims in public that the 4 of them own the majority shares. So how can Leo Rey sell the business even if he possesses these various documents that you took from the office? You are just spreading these lies in order that the 4 of you can cover up the several buses that you hide in Dynamic Builders compound, the usurpation of authority of Celina by stopping the operation of the South Terminal which has inconvenienced thousands of commuters, the Molotov bombs that were found, the looting of the offices in the Ceres Mansilingan compound.”

“Whoever is feeding you false information is evil because they want to divide and weaken us as a family,” she added.

“I have pleaded but none of you until today has made an effort to visit me. What else do you want me to do? I assure you that Leo Rey will not and will never sell the legacy of your father. It is I, your mother, who prevailed for him to stay as president. He begged several times to me and to your father that he will step down as president. But your father and I convinced him to stay on as president of the transportation business. He sacrificed many things for all of you so that you are able to enjoy your life to the fullest,” Olivia said.

“Instead of sowing intrigue to the public and to the family, why don’t you listen to what Gov. Bong is asking all of us, that we should enjoy the gift of family, together with our 18,000 strong employees who were always with us even in this trying times so that this gift will not put to waste,” Olivia further told her daughter.
