Great fashion finds at MTE

THIS year's Mindanao Trade Expo (MTE) sa Kadayawan is a place where you can enjoy a number of great fashion finds.

If you are looking for fashion pieces that are uniquely Mindanao yet classy and stylish, you can find a lot at the expo, which opened last Saturday, August 10, and ran until yesterday, August 14, at the mall's Activity Center.

With around 200 exhibitors from all over the island-region, you can surely find something worthy to spend on.

Personally, the colorful and trendy bags really got my attention. However, if you want the more subtle-colored bags, you can likewise find some from the booths near the expo's entrance.

Aside from the earrings, necklaces, scarves, bags and several other fashion products, you can also satisfy your palate with the sumptuous food items offered by some entrepreneurs.

According to the president of the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation Incorporated (MTEFI), Dr. Rosevic Del Rosario-Cembrano, having the expo during the Kadayawan celebration is a perfect time to showcase and promote the craftsmanship of the local artisans.

"Kadayawan is a celebration of our identity as a people and a tribute to Mother nature for a bountiful harvest. It is in this festive spirit that MTEFI launches the Mindanao Trade Expo 2019," she said in a statement.

The MTE is considered the premier showcase of Mindanao's best and finest products ranging from arts and crafts, houseware, home furnishings, fashion accessories, textiles, beauty and wellness products, and fresh and processed food.

Through the years, it has been a chosen venue among entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and artists to showcase their creations, exchange best practices, and establish access to lucrative local and international markets.

In particular, MTE aims to attract institutional buyers such as operators of hotels, resorts, restaurants, malls, specialty stores, condominiums and residences, as well as traders and sub-contractors, fashion designers, walk in mall-goers and consumers.

In this 24th edition of MTE, Del Rosario-Cembrano is optimistic about achieving positive results.

"It is our hope that MTE 2019 will once again provide an opportunity for our exhibitors to penetrate new markets and strengthen existing ones, while highlighting the island region's rich culture, traditions and history," she said.
