Man shot dead in Bacolod

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Purok Arao, Relocation Site, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, August 13.

Police identified the fatality as Joemar Parafil, of Purok Arao, Relocation Site.

Police Lieutenant Randy Tapang, chief of Police Station 4, said Wedesday, August 14, that Parafil was walking along Purok Arao when unidentified assailants fired at him several times.

The victim sustained multiple wounds and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but he did not survive.

Police recovered from scene of the crime six cartridges of .45 caliber, while the assailants fled on board a motorcycle.

Tapang said they are eyeing about six persons in the killing of the victim.

He said the victim was included in the drug watchlist in the barangay level, and they are still conducting a thorough investigation to find out whether it was drug related.

He said they are also coordinating with witnesses to identify the perpetrators.
