IN LINE with SM Malls’ nationwide observance of July as “Denim Month,” shoppers got to experience all things denim—from irresistible shopping discounts to a display of denim on the runway.

Adding some edge to the runway were the Harley-Davidson motorcycles on display: the 2019 Sportster Forty-Eight, 2018 Softail Low Rider with an Ape Bar, and the all-new 2019 Softail FXDR 114, to name a few.

Last July 27, SM City Cebu—in partnership with Harley-Davidson of Cebu—presented “Denim Freedom.” The show featured Cebu’s top models, personalities, the community of Harley-Davidson bike enthusiasts who put focus on safety riding and family-oriented activities. Members of the Harley Owners Group Cebu and Davao Chapters also showcased Harley-Davidson apparel together with brands The SM Store, Dickies, Levi’s, Folded and Hung and Forever 21: Ken Salimbangon, Sonny Sandico, Police Major Lirio Coral; couples Mash and Laarni Nagat, Vitek and Cecilia Arnon. Children and teens joined in on the runway: KC Chu, Marc Dy, Pauline and the Princess Briones, Darren Gulfan and Parhana Briones; as well as families like Paulo and Jules Garcia; Jithin, Jas, Jayden and Olivia Bahdran; Art, Jing, Ryeouhei and MJ Bacay; and Jimmy, Gail, Justin and Jarred Lim. Capping off the fashion show were Steve Chu, Harley Owners Group Cebu Chapter director 2019; Karen Yosa of the Harley Owners Group Davao Chapter; and Irene Simonette Ngosiok, the Harley Owners Group Cebu and Davao Chapter local manager.

As a way to culminate the celebration of “Denim Month,” SM Seaside City Cebu highlighted all things denim through a fashion show that featured some of the fashionistas and designers in the city with “Denim Academy.”

The show took place at The Mountain Wing Atrium last July 31 and featured designers and retail brands on the runway in line with the theme “Celebrating Everything Denim.”

Participating brands were American Eagle Outfitters, Dickies, Forever 21, Guess, Levi’s and The SM Store, whose pieces were complemented with the designers from the following schools: Fashion Institute of the Philippines, Fashion Institute of Design & Arts Cebu; plus the design schools of Cebu Institute of Technology-University, Southwestern University-PHINMA, University of San Carlos and the University of the Philippines.
