DAVAO Light and Power Co. Inc. (DLPC) cited technical problem as the reason for its recurring power interruptions for two days in some areas of the city.

In a statement, DLPC apologized to its consumers in the areas of Catalunan Pequeño, Mintal, and Tugbok for experiencing recurring power interruptions on August 13 and 14.

"Upon initial investigation, the major cause of the power interruption was a technical problem found at the Tugbok Substation, where the affected areas are connected," it said.

The DLPC said it dispatched round-the-clock monitoring and response team in the substation to mitigate the impact of the problem.

The power utility also said "further repair works are still ongoing to avoid recurrence of this situation."

Residents of the affected areas have taken their frustrations on the recurring power interruptions on social media due to the "unannounced" power interruptions.

DLPC, meanwhile, said it will address the problem soonest.

"Davao Light deeply and sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these power interruptions, which are unscheduled. It will exert its best efforts to resolve the problem the soonest possible time," DLPC said.

Meanwhile, the DLPCC said there will be no scheduled power interruptions that will affect any Kadayawan-related activities.
