Casas-Tumuran: A ‘healthy’ prank

MY HUSBAND and I have gained so much weight when we became parents. We would indulge ourselves to all types of food. We could consume one or two milk teas in a week. We would choose restaurants that offer unlimited rice because we thought it would be worth the money. It was gluttonous.

I thought of changing our lifestyle recently. Since my husband does not like eating vegetables, I pranked him and tagged him along at LHealthy shop, it is a small food house located inside the Rendezvous (fronting Humbertos Hotel and Lestari Hotel near UIC Bonifacio.)

Since hubby likes to eat burgers, I ordered Healthy Burger and Sub Sandwich — both stuffed with beef, tomato, lettuce, onion, and some BBQ sauce. He liked it!

I also ordered Rainbow Rolls, which has thin slices of cucumber, carrots, red cabbage, lettuce wrapped in whole wheat pita bread.

I was impressed because all of their food were actually stuffed with so many veggies, but my husband didn’t mind eating -- my prank’s main objective! He even drank the Blue Butterfly Tea (made from a blue pea flower.)

We also tried a bit of their Beefy Mushroom Steak, Spicy Green Chicken Curry, and Aloha Chicken.

When we reached home, I told him everything about the “prank.” I could still remember his reaction like he wanted to puke, but he said it was a nice try because he liked the taste. The prices of each food are also affordable, nothing above P130. By the way, glad to know that they also serve healthy meal plans.

I am sharing this prank/experience because it is a good reminder that health is wealth. We must always encourage ourselves to have a healthy lifestyle not only for our own good but also for our family.
