P35,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod City

AN ESTIMATED P35,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu”, was seized in a drug bust of Police Station 1 at Rizal Street, Baywalk Reclamation Area, Barangay 12, Bacolod City Thursday morning, August 15.

The operation also led to the arrest of Joelito Hermosa, 27, of Barangay 12.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said Hermosa was arrested after he was caught selling shabu to a police undercover at 12:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Hermosa’s possession 11 sachets of shabu, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
