Dole Bataan distributes livelihood packages

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in Bataan recently distributed livelihood packages to indigent families in the province.

The P20,000 worth of livelihood assistance was given to families of identified child laborers in the province.

Earlier, Dole-Central Luzon conducted a region-wide profiling wherein 1,211 child laborers were identified.

Livelihood packages given to parent-beneficiaries were in the form of upholstery, fruit stand, street food stall, sari-sari store, and rice trading, among others.

The Dole Bataan Field Office, along with the Mariveles Public Employment Service Office (Peso) and barangay captain Jester Ivan Ricafrente, awarded the assistance to 21 beneficiaries.

Dole-Central Luzon chief Zenaida Angara-Campita reminded beneficiaries to not take the given livelihood aid for granted.

"This may only be worth P20,000 to some, but who knows? I have high hopes that this may be your ticket to a more comfortable life," Angara-Campita said.

Fifty-two-year-old Warlita Roco of Barangay San Carlos in Mariveles town is one of the beneficiaries. She thanked the labor agency for the livelihood assistance she received.
