TWICE-TO-BEAT 3BZ Custom Brokerage-B recovered from its first game loss by beating challenger MJC-CLVR, 616-548, in their step-the-ladder finals of the recently-concluded Dacidba-34th Kadayawan Bowling Tournament 2019 at Dover Mega Lanes.
3BZ Custom Brokerage-B lost the first game in the bowlfest that gave away cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
The 3BZ Custom Brokerage B, composed of Peter Morales, Baby Plata, Helen Pogoy, Mars de Guzman, Noli Bae and Anel Aloyan, hit a total of 3,395 pinfalls after six games in the elimination round to grab the top spot and the twice-to-beat advantage in the step-the-ladder finals.
MJC-CLVR, bannered by Charlie Lastimoso, Tommy Sinsamo, Abun Escobido, Mel Bojo and Jun Tabat, placed second after rolling 3,382 pinfalls while Diagold (3,360) and Jonzlibz (3,343) finished third.
In the step-the-ladder, No. 3 Diagold rolled over No. 4. Jonzlibz, 585-550, only to fall at the hands of No. 2 MJC-CLVR, 592-567. The latter, thus, earned the right to arrange a championship match against 3BZ Custom Brokerage B.
The highest individual single title went to Mel Bojo who garnered 158 pinfalls, while Nonoy Calida's 275 won for him the highest individual double and Steven Daisa scored 95 to clinch the highest pinning award.
Jonzlibz, meanwhile, copped the highest team single with a total of 600 pinfalls even as MJC-CLVR (1,159) took the highest team double honors.
The annual event was supported by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.
