"This has been our campaign long before siguro mga five years na to combat dengue," Elipe said.

The general manager of Misamis Oriental Integrated Sports Complex (MOISC) said it is a more natural way and long-term solution to combat dengue.

"While everybody else is campaigning para manglimpyo and other strategies to battle the dengue problem, we continue to strengthen sa pagtanom sa Citronella," he added.

Elipe said the plant's aroma drives away mosquitoes and other insects within a certain radius.

He said his family has enough plants to share to others. Elipe said those who want the plant for free may contact this number 0995-627-3269.

"Daghan na amo and we will be happy to share it. Kung magtanom mo mas maayo sa ground itanom sa perimeters house ug kanang maadlawan gamay," Elipe said.
