TWO police officers were wounded in a grenade explosion in Taguig City early Wednesday morning, August 21.
Executive Master Sergeant Santiago Cordova and Corporal Alnajim Abdulhalim were conducting anti-criminality operations in New Lower Bicutan around 1 a.m. when they spotted a suspicious looking man.
When they approached the man, they found he was carrying three hand grenades and a firearm.
The man resisted arrest, fired at the officers and threw a grenade at them.
Taguig City Police Chief Alexander Santos said the armed man eluded arrest while the policemen were rushed to the hospital.
Santos said he has ordered pursuit operations.
Both wounded officers are assigned to the Taguig Police Community Precinct 2. (SunStar Philippines)
