CLARK FREEPORT -- Widus International Leisure Inc. (Wili) has provided support to an elementary school in Mexico town.

Through its charity arm, Widus Foundation Inc., Wili recently conducted an educational outreach program at Masamat Elementary School.

About 20 Wili employees helped clean and refurbish the school's facilities and organized arts and crafts, fun games and read-along sessions with selected students.

The day-long activity was part of Wili's 13th founding anniversary celebration.

Wili is the owner and proprietor of Widus Hotel and Casino.

In 2017, Widus Foundation donated a customized 40-foot container van equipped with new chairs and tables, air-conditioning units, computer sets, educational children's books, and other learning materials to Masamat Elementary School. The donation was under the foundation's "Adopt-A-Library" project.

"These succeeding programs we implement aim to continuously develop the youth community by gearing towards a long term approach, which goes beyond the corporate social responsibility framework," Widus Foundation manager Ronnel Golimlim said.

Golimlim also added that the foundation fully supports Masamat Elementary School's clean and green campaign by initiating an eco-bricks making activity.

Golimlim said these recyclable building blocks will be used to make a perimeter wall to protect the container van library, which was donated by WFI in 2017.

Widus Human Resources Director Ana Christi Galura commended the efforts of the employees who volunteered in the event.

"Widus is committed to the holistic development of its employees, thus, our efforts include opportunities for our colleagues to find self-fulfillment through outreach programs. This inculcates a culture of gratitude and teamwork that benefits both the organization and the community we serve," Galura said.

Aside from supporting the outreach program, Galura, together with her team, lined up various merriments during the week of August 12 to 16 for the annual celebration and to show appreciation to all Widus employees.

The week-long celebration included daily complimentary snacks, raffle draws and free workshops on office make-up, pastry making and pampering services like manicure and hand and back massage for all regular employees.

To date, Widus Clark is recognized as one of Clark Development Corporation's top investors with its 234 elegantly-appointed rooms, topnotch casino, renowned food and beverage restaurants and family-friendly amenities.
