Matod ni Derek ug Andrea nga bisan sila nahibong kon nganong dali ra silang nagkasinabot ug kumportable na kuno kaayo sila bisan sa unang adlaw pa lang sa ilang taping.
Apan ilang giklaro nga dili pa sila uyab pero kon basehan ang ilang mga tubag ug lihok maorag sila na gyud.
Ang The Better Woman naa na karon sa makapahinam nga mga episode kay sa wa damha parehong nabuntis sa karakter ni Derek Ramsay (Andrew) ang twin sisters (Jasmine ug Juliet) nga parehong gidala ni Andrea Torres sa dual role.
Kinsa kaha ang The Better Woman? Asa padung ang nagkatam-is nilang relasyon sa tinuod nga kinabuhi?

How difficult portraying a dual role?
ANDREA: Mahirap po talaga, siyempre sa TV dapat mabilis kumilos, kailangan mabilis mag-internalize. Hindi mo naman siya kukunan itong day na ito mabait lang, itong day na ito yung masungit lang, talagang palit-palit po talaga yung switch ng character ko, sometimes in just one setting. Pero wini-welcome ko naman yung challenge at very grateful na binigyan ako ng pagkakataon ng GMA to show a different side of me.
Sinong bet mo doon sa dalawa?
ANDREA: Yun nga, wala eh. Pareho kasi silang may qualities na talagang makaka-relate ka. Like yung kay Jasmine gusto ko yung pagiging sweet n’ya being the wife of Andrew at pagiging close n’ya sa kanyang mom. Si Juliet naman, syempre, exciting unpredictable siya, hindi mo alam yung mga susunod niyang sasabihin at gagawin. Yung character kasi ni Juliet meron talagang pinaghuhugutan at may back story kung bakit naiinggit siya kay Jasmine at nagiging masama. Although in real life I’m more like of Jasmine.
Derek, as first-time Kapuso actor how was your transition?
DEREK: There’s no transition. The staff and everyone in GMA made me feel so welcome. Sanay naman tayo sa ganyang project. But this is one of the most difficult projects that I have done because we’re shooting it like a movie. Kasi there are so many restrictions sa TV but we took up the risk of trying to portray sexy romantic scenes with great difficulty yet natawid naman namin. The transition is fine. They really made me feel that I’m one of them.
From day one hanggang ngayon napakatindi ng chemistry n’yo. How did you prepare yourselves especially sa romantic scenes?
ANDREA: Walang preparation eh.
DEREK: Actually, wala. We were scheduled to do workshop pero nag-request kami na wag na lang kasi ayaw namin maging mechanical. We first met sa GMA station ID shoot. I’ve never met Andrea before. Tapos nag-met kami ulit sa shooting na. Ang unang scene namin sexy na kaagad na naka 2-piece siya, tapos ako (topless).. and we’re so sweet and romantic by the beach. Yun yung first time namin. And we just hit it off.
Ano yun take 1 lang?
DEREK: Yeah, take 1.
ANDREA: Hindi kami nag-usap, hindi kami nagsabi ng, “uy ito ang gagawin ko” or nagkaroon ng limitation sa isa’t isa. And I was telling my mom, kasi kasama ko lagi mom ko, “mom weird di ko kinakabahan, di ako naiilang or awkward.”
DEREK: Before going to the set, I messaged her thru Instagram and I said, “I’m looking forward working with you.” She replied: “I feel the same thing.” Nagkita kami sa set. Binigyan kami ng instruction. We’re already comfortable.
Anong first impression n’yo sa isa’t isa?
ANDREA: Relax siya. Parang feeling ko siya yung taong nagbibigay ng energy sa akin. Feeling ko hindi siya yung judgmental type, very totoo. Di showbiz kumilos.
DEREK: I know she’s talented. She got lots of shows in GMA. She’s one of the prime artists of Kapuso. But wala kang makikitang ere na big star siya. She has her feet on the ground and that’s what I like about her. May laman pag kinakausap mo. Like I said, it’s just so strange we’re so comfortable working with each other. I got close to Andrea and to her family just like that. And we’ve been doing things together, not only on the set but even outside.
Noong nag-start kayo ng taping, wala na kayo noong girlfriend mo?
DEREK: Wala na. Yeah, let’s make that clear, wala na. It was so unfortunate na dinadamay pa yung pangalan ni Andrea. Things didn’t work out. That’s what happened to our story. But I’ve gotta move on. Even with that sad news I’m blessed with this great project.
With your closeness now ni Andrea, may chance kayang magka-developan kayo?
DEREK: May chance ba ako?
ANDREA: (Nag-blush ug dugay kaayo niinom og tubig. Ang tanan nangatawa ug dunay nitawag sa iyang mommy nga naa usab sa presscon.)
DEREK: Hmmm... she’s definitely someone I would be interested in. She’s actually, funny enough, if you ask me what’s that physical type that I like? But that’s actually not the physical thing that I like.. like dark parang ganyan. What surprised me is just who she is inside, like she’s so close to her family. In fact, that’s so No. 1 for me. With that characteristic how much she gives importance to family, she’s definitely somebody that I could see myself falling for.
ANDREA: My reaction? (klaro kaayong nakilig) Nalaglag tuloy si mommy. I think ano... yun yung reason kung bakit yung sinabi nila may instant chemistry, kasi pareho kami ng values and noong na-meet ko siya parang nakita ko kung bakit maraming taong humahanga sa kanya at rumerespeto. Definitelty, lagi akong looking forward pumunta sa set and lagi akong umuuwi ng bahay na happy?
What’s the label of your closeness now? Saan na kayo?
ANDREA: Real. Wow.
DEREK: We’re really close. Yeah, I look forward going to the set, I look forward to texting her. I look forward to calling her. Saan na ba tayo?
ANDREA: Sa Cebu. (laughs)
