THE Bacolod City Council approved a resolution congratulating Peter Fritz Siason and Dawn Cuachon for winning first and fourth place, respectively, in the Seaside IDF Race 2019 Masters Category held in Margondon, Cavite.
The resolution, authored by Councilor Israel Salanga, was approved during the regular of the city council on Tuesday, August 20.
Salanga said the competition is a World Qualifying Series and the top finisher will represent the country for the upcoming world title event.
He said the International Downhill Federation hosted its Seaside IDF Race 2019-Masters Category in Cavite on April 22 to 28.
Siason and Cuachon are both residents of Bacolod City.
“The City Council joins the people of Bacolod in congratulating Siason and Cuachon for their incredible feat, making Bacolodnons proud and serving an inspiration to their fellow youth in working hard to achieve their respective goals in life,” Salanga said.
Meanwhile, the City Council also commended Cindy Lou Serna for winning bronze medal in the Go for Gold National Skateboarding Championships held at Santa Rosa, Laguna on July 13.
Salanga said the competition is a qualifier to the upcoming Southeast Asian Games and the podium finishers of the event will be representing the country.
He said Serna, a resident of Bacolod, won the bronze medal of the skateboarding competition and she will be representing Bacolod and the Philippines in the prestigious 30th Southeast Asian Games on November 30 to December 11, 2019.
“Serna truly brings pride to our beloved City of Bacolod and serves as an inspiration to many of our young people who aspire to showcase their God-given talents not just here in the Philippines but also to the entire world,” he added. (MAP)
