Mabalacat LGU vies for good governance seal

THE local government of Mabalacat is aspiring for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

City Planning Officer Rosano Paquia said the City Government is currently being assessed in terms of implementation of various programs.

Paquia said the City, under the leadership of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, is aspiring to become a SGLG Hall of Famer this year.

"We passed all the requirements of the DILG seal. We are optimistic that we can get the Hall of Fame award of we get our third consecutive award this year," Paquia said.

City Administrator Emmanuel E. Ignacio, Paquia and other office heads attended the assessment for SGLG 2019 Thursday, August 22. Also present during the event was City DILG officer Rowena Ocampo.

Ignacio said frontline offices have prepared early and diligently for the assessment in coordination with the local DILG office.

During last year's SGLG evaluation, Mabalacat City passed seven out of the seven assessment areas required to earn the seal.

The LGU scored well in the areas of financial administration, disaster preparedness, peace and order, business-friendliness and competitiveness, and tourism, culture and the arts.
