FOUR more drug personalities were arrested, while P53,500 worth of substance believed to be shabu was seized, as authorities continue the anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Friday, August 23.
Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested persons as Ricardo Tabañera Jr., 45; James Mark Luna, 25; Eduardo Malaga, 40; and Emilio Fuentes, 48.
Galvez said P22,500 worth of shabu packed in 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P500 marked money were seized from Tabañera, who was arrested in a drug bust around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 22, in the village of Sta. Barbara, Malamawi Island, Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province.
Galvez said Luna and Malaga were arrested in a drug bust around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, in Callejon Drive, Barangay Guiwan, Zamboanga City.
He said seized from them were P30,000 worth of shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.
Galvez said joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives arrested Fuentes around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, in Purok Subis in the village of Sumadat, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.
Seized from Fuentes were some P1,000 worth of shabu, P1,000 marked money and a cellular phone.
She said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Philippines)
