Talisay clamps 17 vehicles in 2-day drive

THE City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-Toda) clamped 17 vehicles in two days since it started clearing public roads of obstructions on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019.

It clamped 12 vehicles on the first day and five the following day.

The traffic office also issued citation tickets to 15 motorists for illegal parking during this period.

Jonathan Tumulak, CT-Toda head, told Superbalita Cebu that even though his office had conducted information dissemination for a month, there were still some motorists who parked their vehicles along sidewalks.

Tumulak urged motorists living in Talisay City to heed their advice and park their vehicles away from sidewalks to avoid getting clamped.

Violators are required to pay P500 for illegal parking. Then there is another P500 to pay for the clamping.

Tumulak said before they clamp a vehicle, they warn the owner to remove it immediately using the siren from their patrol car.

Tumulak said there would be no letup in their clamping operation, adding that they would clamp vehicles on weekends and holidays.
