USC, UC gun for semis slots today

THE quarterfinal round of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Partners Cup takes off today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Second-seed San Marino-University of San Carlos Warriors will be leaning on their twice-to-beat edge when they take on the Bibbo Hotdog-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats in the 4 p.m. game.

Third-ranked Enervon C-University of Cebu, which also has a twice-to-beat advantage will be facing the Lion Tiger Aerosols-University of Southern Philippines Foundation in the final game.

Meanwhile, the defending Cesafi juniors division champions, the Bibbo-CIT Baby Wildcats, are expected to sail through their quarterfinal assignment when they face the winless Prime Asia Don Bosco College in the 1 p.m. curtain raiser.

CIT, which will be bannered by Cesafi MVP and Jr. NBA MVP Mark Jayven Tallo, started the league slowly absorbing two straight losses before racking up four straight wins leading up to the quarterfinal round.

The second game for the day will be between the Ave Maria Sanctuary and Park-University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars and the San Marino-USC Baby Warriors.

Bibbo-CIT and Ave Maria-USJ-R will be playing with twice-to-beat edge today.

The USJ-R college squad and the UC Baby Webmasters are already in the semifinals.

They got automatic slots for topping the elimination round.
