Man beheads drinking buddy using chainsaw

A DRINKING spree turned bloody in Culaba, Biliran on Sunday, August 25, after a man killed his drinking partner using a chainsaw.

Authorities identified the victim as Eduardo Rosquitos, 30, a construction worker and resident of Barangay Bool East in Culaba town.

The suspect, who was arrested by responding policemen, was identified as Roger Paje, 48, a chainsaw operator.

Initial police investigation revealed that the two started their drinking session along with another companion, Edgardo Cañete, at the suspect's house around 8 a.m. Sunday, August 25.

When Rosquitos and Cañete passed out on the floor, the suspect took a chainsaw and attacked Rosquitos, cutting his head and different parts of his body, leading to his instantaneous death.

Cañete managed to run outside the house and called for help.

Police said the suspect was allegedly unruly when drunk.

The chainsaw is now under the custody of the Culaba Municipal Police Station.
