Police, gov’t employee nabbed for illegal drugs

A RETIRED police man and a government employee were among those arrested for illegal drugs in a month-long drug operations of police in Caraga region.

Some 35 people were arrested in a region-wide drug operations by the Caraga Police Drug Enforcement Unit from August 1 to 24.

Brigadier General Gilberto Cruz, Caraga police director, said operatives of Surigao del Norte conducted drug bust that resulted in the arrest of Edwin Urbiztondo a retired cop, Roberto Quilario, a government employee, and 35 others.

The others were arrested in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Butuan City, and Surigao del Sur.

Meanwhile, 10 others were arrested in Agusan del Norte through drug busts and implementation of search warrant. Among those arrested suspects were; Jumar Corvera and Frederick Comorposa; in Cabadbatan City, Roldan Cabilin; in Tubay, Karen Dumanglas and Eduardo Viscaya; in Buenavista, Charl Jagmoc and Jaime Escobia; in Nasipit, Roland Sambalod; in Las Nieves, Reynaldo Manlangit; in Jabonga and Lowell Podador; in the municipality of RTR.

The Agusan del Sur operatives also arrested six personalities namely; Alvin Terania; in Veruela town, Eddie Goloran and Jeson Ganzan; in Prosperidad, Walter Garayan; in La Paz, Arnel Barrios and Maher Sidir in San Francisco.

Nabbed in Butuan City Police were; Jhony Simbahon; in Brgy. 10, Sekatuna, Ludemar Hermojeno; in Brgy. Sto. Niño, Mark Joseph Alejandro; in Bgry. Mahay, Jessey Padden; in Brgy. Holy Redeemer, Ronnel Paciencia and Rosemary Paciencia; in Brgy. Ambago, and Rowel Abogadi in Brgy. Doongan.

Meanwhile in Surigao del Sur, cops nabbed Jerry Avila and Benechikito Campos; in San Agustin, Jimmy Vistal; in Tandag City, Michael Consuegna; in Lingig, Jomver Magalona and Renaldo Marson; in the City of Bislig.

A total of 77 sachets of suspected shabu were seized, with estimated weight of 32.7055 grams and Dangerous Drug Value of P376, 945, 45.5 grams of marijuana worth P3,410 including drug paraphernalia.

“The police force will continue its unwavering efforts to stop the illegal drug trade in the region and reinvigorate its anti-criminality campaign to ensure safety and security of the Caraganons. These drug suspects will be facing charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002,” Cruz said. (PJ Orias)
