SEDA Ayala Center Cebu celebrates its first anniversary in Cebu. It has maintained its brand of fine service, likened to the delicate silk craftsmanship. True, Seda has its distinct hotel artistry and good service, amenities, socially gracious management team and staff. The food meets the gourmet taste. We look forward to more years of “seamless weaving, then and now.”

I chanced upon an old brochure of “Glamour and Glitz,” the first fund-raising event of Zonta 1 directed by Benjie Diola and chaired by Zontian Felisa Chiongbian. I also found a few research materials Speechcom had on social graces with the list of Cebu’s prettiest faces (not including, beauty title holders): Petite Garcia, Amparito Lhuillier, Margie Lhuillier, Aida Uy, Marget Villarica, Nelia Neri, Elvira Luym, Alice Woolbright, Filomena Sy and others. If another research is done again, I am sure the following will be cited: Mariquita Yeung, Donna Larrazabal, Marilou Cañizares, Nora Muntuerto, Tess Chan, Elizabeth Go and Emily Chioson. Well, these are visible faces I often see and am sure there are more like the flower, “The Rhodora.” (a poem about beautiful flowers blooming even in isolated places by Ralph Waldo Emerson). How about you? Who are your choices?

SP Communication Kit. Let us define some adjectives beyond the Merriam-Webster dictionary. A beautiful face has well-balanced, chiseled, almost perfect features and classic contour. (Examples: Elizabeth Taylor, Gloria Romero, Rosanna Podesta). A sight to behold. One is pretty, or lovely. (Marian Rivera, Bea Alonzo). One may not be beautiful, but is charming (Susan Roces). Sexy? She is attractive, sensuous and inviting (Marilyn Monroe or Angel Locsin). Then, we have glamorous and sultry (Sofia Loren, Julia Roberts or Demi Moore). But as they, say, ”beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” But wait, let’s be sure these faces are natural, without technological enhancements.
