A FORMER detainee, who was a beneficiary of the plea bargaining, has landed again behind the bars after she was nabbed anew for selling illegal drugs on Saturday, August 24, at Purok 7, Trading Boulevard, Barangay 37-D, Davao City.

The arrested suspect was identified as Reizel Joy Roy Bolingkit, 24, single, student, and resident of the Boulevard. She is under the drug watchlist being monitored by the authorities. She was arrested after she sold a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) to a police operative who posed as a buyer in exchange of the P13,000 drug bust money consisting of one genuine P1,000 peso bill and 12 pieces machine copied 1000 peso bills.

The suspect was formerly arrested for the crime of illegal drug possession but was apprehended again for the same offense by the members of the Drug Enforcement Team of San Pedro Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Davao.

Investigation revealed that on August 24, at about 4:10 p.m., a drug bust was conducted at Purok 7, Trading Boulevard. Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were boodle money and two pieces medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of MOL 1.4 grams with an estimated street value of P19,000.

Likewise, recovered were two pieces of elongated size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride with an estimated total weight of more or less 0.2 grams with an estimated street value of P1,000 and one unit color white cellular phone which was used in her drug transactions.

The suspect was first apprehended last September 15, 2015 in a drug bust. She was able to avail for plea bargaining for lesser offense and was only released last December 2018.

“It only means, she didn’t learn her lesson yet,” Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao director Police Brigadier General Marcelo Morales said.

Cases for violation of section 5 and 11 of RA 9165 are being prepared for filing in court against the suspect. (JCR)
