THE Pyramid is a standout in a sea of tall buildings within Cebu IT Park. Officially opened last May 16, 2017, the place recently celebrated its second anniversary. Aptly named, The Pyramid has been around for all intents and purposes to its diners.

From its structure alone, it’s enough to make its guests, especially the shutterbugs, linger for long periods of time. Wherever you look, there’s always a little nook or corner where people can get a good angle for that “picture perfect” shot from day to night. Despite its posh demeanor, the place doesn’t demand a strict dress code as it primarily wants its guests to look and, most importantly, feel comfortable.

With this in mind, promotions and activities are prepared not only to keep its guests entertained but to also show that there’s more to The Pyramid to keep the party going; from its wine sampling on Thursdays, when it introduces and imparts some knowledge on some of its wines while also showcasing its wine cellar; acoustic nights on selected days; lunch buffet launched last Aug. 21; ladies’ night on Tuesdays; to its recently launched karaoke competition for aspiring singers, “Search for the Karaoke Star #RoadTo100000.”

Completing that promise of a comfortable atmosphere are its Filipino favorites together with its choices of comfort food, sweet treats and various selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

A welcome addition to the team is executive chef Richard Zaballero, who has a penchant for Spanish fare and aims to bring in new flavors to the table. Describing himself to be the type of guy who likes to do things that are extreme, chef Richard has played numerous roles from racer, politician, entrepreneur, to his latest interest which is being a chef. He dedicated himself to learning more about food during his second term as city councilor in his hometown, Lucena City until eventually moving to Cebu City by 2013 to be close to his mother.

With a new chef lies the promise of not only new flavors but some new trademark dishes in store: the potato salad; the lengua, bathed in mushroom sauce; balbacua; not to mention, the roast beef fused with Western and Spanish flavors. A believer in working with a passion to the craft, chef Richard hopes to impart knowledge and bond with his team; at the same time introduce something new to The Pyramid’s diners, making it more than just a place to chill.

The Pyramid is open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily and is located at Cebu IT Park.
