The SKAL International has been hosting the Tourism Personality Awards for the 29th year now.
This annual event of SKAL International Makati honors personalities from the airlines, hotels, resorts, travel agencies, tour operators, and travel media whose exemplary achievements have contributed to the betterment of the Philippine tourism industry.
The honorees have been adjudged from among a host of leading personalities nominated by various organizations in the travel and tourism industry.
SKAL is the only international organization that brings together all branches of the travel and tourism industry. The SKAL movement was introduced in the Philippines in 1953 with the founding of the SKAL Club of the Philippines.
This later became the SKAL Club of Manila in August 28, 1981 when it gave birth to the SKAL Club of Makati. The SKAL Club of Cebu followed in 1990 and the fourth club in the Philippines, SKAL Club of Davao, was chartered in 1997.
