AUTHORITIES have arrested seven wanted persons in Benguet from August 19 to 23 through their intensified campaign against criminality.
Police Colonel Lyndon Mencio, director of Benguet Provincial Police Office (BPPO), said in a press release that their intensified campaign against criminality led to the arrest of Ryan Gomintong Banite, 32, a farmer from Salcedo, Ilocos Sur.
A warrant of arrest was issued against Banite for rape.
Francisco Barba Gaceta Jr., 24, a native of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur, was arrested in Ampucao, Itogon for attempted rape.
Another suspect, Martin Dongui-is Solimen, alias "Boy Negro," 28, from Palitan, Quirino, Ilocos Sur, was nabbed in Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet for robbery.
Jasper Mabli Tomas, alias Jesper Aclis Tomas, 21, a native of Kapangan, Benguet but was residing in Pico, La Trinidad was also apprehended for theft.
Also arrested were Rosemann Basilio De Vera, 31, a resident of Nangalisan, Tuba, for serious physical injuries; Rosemann Basilio De Vera, 31, of Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet for serious physical injuries; and Sherwin Galingon Bilog, alias "Bayawe," 40, a native of Bontoc, Mountain Provincel for robbery.
Bilog has been listed as number 7 in the Ten Most Wanted Persons-Provincial Level and is a member of Acetylene Gang operating nationwide under "Gepson Beligen Group" also known as "Sagandoy Acetylene Group."
In Upper Cotcot, Bangao, Buguias, Benguet, tracker teams of Buguias and Benguet police served the warrant of arrest for rape against Jason Luansin Dela Cruz, 30, a native of Dardarat, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.
