PDEA seizes P374,000 shabu in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P374,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas in Barangay 10, Bacolod City, Monday evening, August 26.

The operation also led to the arrest of Carlo Buncalon, 32, a high-value target and resident of Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod.

Police records showed that Buncalon was arrested by a PDEA agent who acted as buyer after selling a sachet of shabu around 6:40 p.m.

Recovered from Buncalon's possession were several sachets of shabu weighing 55 grams of shabu and the marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of PDEA and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, an estimated P15,000 worth of shabu was also seized by operatives of Police Station 6 in Purok Mabinuligon, Barangay 30, Bacolod City, Monday morning.

The operatives also arrested Alfie Reynon of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Reynon was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at 5 a.m.

Recovered from Reynon's possession are six sachets of shabu and the P200 marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6.
