302nd IB gets new commander

THE 302nd Infantry Brigade (IB) of the Philippine Army based in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental has a new commander.

Outgoing 302nd IB commander Brigadier General Ignacio Madriaga was formally relieved during a change of command ceremony at Camp Leon Kilat in Tanjay City Tuesday, August 27.

He was replaced by Colonel Noel Baluyan, formerly deputy commander of the 302nd IB and task force commander for the provinces of Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor.

Madriaga, in his speech, thanked various stakeholders including local government units and police counterparts for their cooperation in achieving the mission and objectives of the brigade.

The former commander was reassigned at the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Camp Aquinaldo in Manila.

Third Infantry Division commander Major General Dinoh Dolina, who attended the activity, congratulated Madriaga for a job well-done.

He also challenged Baluyan to continue and maintain the operational tempo started by his predecessor.
