P136,000 'shabu' siezed in Barangay Basak San Nicolas

AN ESTIMATED P136,000 worth of "shabu" was seized by operatives in an anti-illegal drug operation in Sitio Ipil, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, Thursday dawn, August 29, 2019.

The suspect was identified as one Francis Evan Torrevillas, 30, a resident of Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City.

The Mabolo police, led by Police Captain Dexter Basirgo, nabbed Torrevillas at around 4 a.m.

Over 20 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized from the suspect, including a pack of shabu purchased by a poseur buyer.

The seized drugs were worth at around P136,000, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.

Also recovered from Torrevillas was a firearm with live ammunition.

Torrevillas will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Benjie Talisic of Superbalita Cebu; JGS)
