'Grudge' pushes student to shoot kin in Leyte

A PERSONAL grudge led a 20-year-old student to kill his relative in San Miguel, Leyte Thursday, August 29.

Police identified the victim as Artemio Brazil, 58, married, a municipal electrician of San Miguel town.

The suspect was identified as Jorent Greg Labaclado, a senior high student in San Miguel.

Initial investigation revealed that around 7:10 a.m. Thursday, August 29, the victim was sweeping the front yard at his residence in Barangay Cayare, San Miguel, when the suspect confronted him.

The suspect then suddenly pulled out his caliber .38 revolver tucked in his waist and shot the victim, hitting his head.

Recovered from the crime scene were one unit of caliber .38 revolver (Smith and Wesson) loaded with five cartridges and one live ammunition.
