FOLLOWING the success of its first coffee branch in 2017, owners of Bicester Café are expanding the brand’s footprint in Cebu.

Rejzl Awit, one of the founders, announced that Bicester is opening its second branch in Ayala Malls Central Bloc in Cebu IT Park later this year.

The café will offer not just the usual brunch (breakfast and lunch) selection they are known of but a full-service menu catering to the residents and working professionals in the IT business district.

“The support we are getting is overwhelming. It’s nice to see people in the busy metro taking the time to have coffee and brunch together. I’m happy that they find comfort here at Bicester,” said Awit.

She said that the idea of offering brunch helped them attract a good market following, despite the healthy presence of coffee shops in Cebu.

“We didn’t limit ourlseves to offer beverage and sweets,” she said.

Bicester Café was inspired by luxury shopping district in United Kingdom where cafés offer customers an all-day breakfast dining.

“Bicester reminds me of shopping and coffee—two of the things I love the most. My dad and I have always wanted to open something like this, and the opportunity was too good to pass up. We also wanted to bring specialty coffee closer to the customers,” said Awit, in a past interview.

The expansion to Cebu IT Park is an opportunity they cannot miss, given the high foot traffic in the area, Awit said.

“I want to offer a corner in Cebu IT Park where people can chill and relax while having a cup of coffee in the morning or a drink at the end of a long day. It is also where families and friends can enjoy brunch together,” she said.

Bicester opened two years ago in Mahogany Place along Pope John Paul II Avenue in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

The café offers a variety of hot and iced coffee drinks, brunch meals, pastas, pastries and cocktails.

The 100-square-meter Bicester branch in Cebu IT Park will offer a comfortable seating spaces that can accommodate up to 60 people. It will also have a bar.

To celebrate its second anniversary, Awit said they launched its line of coffee cocktails—caffeine drinks infused with alcohol. They currently offer five different coffee-based cocktails spiked with either vodka, martini, tequila, or whiskey. (KOC)
