Pangan: Team building

THERE are activities that promote camaraderie unity and solid relationships.

One of these is team building, which according to Google, is the process of turning a group of individual contributing employees or member into a cohesive team.

Why are they being held anyway? Are they just conducted to justify the budget usage? Or are team building activities important in one's life?

The answer is in the affirmative. These informal activities discover one's hidden skills and talents as participants are encouraged to bring out the best in them, act uninhibitedly and without implied censorship or repercussions. Thus, employees or members look up to the schedules of team building with much anticipation.

The Fiesta Homeowners Tabun Mabalacat City Association officers and board of directors had its team building on August 24 and 25 at Barangay Sabang, Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

The participants were: president Kay Rozel Hernandez and friend Andrew, VP Rod Monis, Secretary Aidez dela Cruz and hubby Manny together with children Jan Aidann and Valiant Deanny, treasurer Marydoll and Abegail Corilla, staff Gayle Allanic Calumpiano, BOD Juliet Donato and family, BOD Cesar Pangan, wife and two kids Caleb and Thirdy, BOD Benjie Pangan, wife Josie and son Regie and BOD-Auditor Angie Isais and Iya.

Leaving the HOA office at 4 a.m., August 24, the group in two vans and Angie's car, traveled to Sta. Cruz for about five hours and lodged at Sea Sun resort in Barangay Sabang. It was raining hard the whole day.

On the evening of August 24, VP Rod led the group's night activity via quiz games, which proved to be entertaining. Food was served on time: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Intimate discussions were held by the group.

On August 25, the team building ended before noon and the group headed for home using the same route as it had in going to Sta. Cruz.

Team building events are that important for groups or companies of all sizes and structures, volunteers Google. Indeed, they are as they are a form of relaxation and teach-ins minus the stress as they are conducted on an easy, calculated pace.

At the LGU of Mabalacat City, the Human Resources Management Office handles the team building schedules of every department in the City Government. I heard of good feedback of these activities.
