18 pushers collared; P1.5-M marijuana leaves seized

CAMP BADO DANGWA -- Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO–COR) nabbed 18 suspected drug pushers and seized P1.5 million worth of marijuana dried leaves region-wide as part of its Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo).

Arrested were Mark Daniel Tenorio Isidro, 29, of Almeda Street, Tondo, Manila and Godwin Aquino, 21, a resident of Clark, Angeles, Pampanga. They were separately arrested in a checkpoint at Tochey, Tocucan, Bontoc, Mt. Province after 16 dried marijuana leaves worth P1,584,000 were taken from their possession on August 21.

Ten bricks of marijuana leaves weighing 10,300 grams worth P1,236,000 were taken from Isidro while five tubular marijuana dried leaves weighing 2,800 grams and marijuana dried leaves with fruiting tops weighing 100 grams worth of P348,000 were seized from the possession of Aquino.

Several drug busts and implementation of search warrants yielded 16 drug pushers who were neutralized region-wide from August 19 to 24.

Baguio City Police Office and Benguet Police Provincial Office apprehended seven each while Abra and Kalinga PPO with one arrest each.

During the entire operation, 30 sachets of suspected shabu, three tubular suspected dried marijuana leaves, P7,000 drug bust money, P4,000 cash, three assorted cellular phones, one motorcycle and other drug paraphernalia were confiscated. (SunStar Baguio)
