P49,300 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P49,300 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Wednesday, August 28.

The operations also led to the arrest of the two drug personalities identified as Glenn Aquino and Genesis Alferez, both residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Aquino was arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Purok San Miguel, Barangay Sum-ag around 3:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Aquino seven sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P12,500, the P100 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said Alferez was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 in Gawad Kalinga, Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre at 7:05 p.m.

Police recovered from Alferez's possession eights sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P36, 800, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 7 and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
