NOW on its second edition, the 2019 CX-5 by Mazda rocks a hip makeover, both inside and out. Featuring a slightly altered version of Mazda’s KODO - Soul of Motion design language, the latest iteration of the CX-5 is based on the concept of “refined toughness,” juxtaposing refined touches with tech-driven specs.
As expected from the Japanese automaker, the interiors of the five-seater SUV seamlessly combine finesse and technology: leather seats and electronic dual-zone air-conditioning units for the utmost comfort of the passengers as well as the state-of-the-art MZD Connect system, which you can sync with your smartphone to enable hands-free and voice-activated connectivity to cloud-based apps, maps and many more functions.
In terms of the engine, the CX-5 has three variants: the 2.0L and 2.5L SKYACTIV-G engines, which boast to have the highest compression ratio for any gasoline engine; and a 2.2L SKYACTIV-D variant (Diesel) in the Philippines, which is matched with the SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission and the SKYACTIV body and chassis for a smooth drive and a more robust body.
Designed for optimized driving, the CX-5 is equipped with features such as G-Vectoring Control, i-STOP Idle Stop System, Adaptive LED Headlamps, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning to make sure whoever is behind the wheel has the most pleasant cruise on the road.
