NALANGAY karon ang proyekto sa lungsod sa Argao nga protective seawall o Argao Baywalk nga tukoron sa Sitio Looc, Barangay Poblacion.
Kini tungod kay adunay mga complainant nga ningpirma og petisyon batok sa proyekto.
Ang P95 milyones nga proyekto aprobado nasa budget appropriation sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cebu 4th District Engineering Office alang sa 2019.
“In view of the foregoing circumstances, it is respectfully recommended that technical conference between the project proponent, Barangay Captain, DPWH and representative of the complaints be conducted to settle the issues and concerns,” base sa rekomendasyon sa Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) nga gipirmahan nila ni CENRO Argao Enforcement and Monitoring Section Chief Josephine Wenceslao ug Forest Ranger Lucito Sardañas niadtong Agusto 9.
Base sa imbestigasyon sa CENRO Argao nga sa 500 ka mga complainant, 27 ra niini ang direkta nga apektado o 14 ka balay base sa datus sa Barangay Poblacion.
“That the team were able to talk also with some of the complainants they told us that they are against the construction of the Protection Seawall/baywalk project for the reason that they can no longer park their boat on that particular area,” tipik sa investigation report.
Base sa Resolution No. 96 sa Konseho sa lungsod sa Argao nga tumong sa katukoran sa seawall nga maprotektahan ang sidlakan nga bahin atubangan sa dagat sa Barangay Poblacion.
Nalakip ang proyekto sa Local Development and Investment Program gikan sa 2017-2022 alang sa lungsod sa Argao. “Adopt measures to protect the inhabitants of the municipality from the harmful effects of man-made or natural disasters and calamities,” matod sa resolusyon. (HBL)
