101 Negrenses hired thru Tesda’s job linkaging, networking services

SOME 101 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates in Negros Occidental were hired on the spot through the job linkaging and networking services of the Technical Education and Skills Authority (Tesda).

Tesda-Negros Occidental, in a statement, said the hired applicants form part of the 300 TVET graduates who participated in its 25th anniversary and 2nd National Tech-Voc Day celebration recently.

Dubbed “World Café Opportunities,” the one-day event held at Gaisano City Grand Mall in Bacolod City gathered nine local participating companies which provided of 2,200 job vacancies.

Tesda-Negros Occidental Provincial Director Rolando Juanillo, in his message, said that the celebration is not just about the agency itself but more on skilled workforce who have decided to take TVET as a way of life.

“Truly our slogan ‘Tesda Abot Lahat’ resonates the earnest desire of the agency that social equity will be enjoyed by all sectors wherein a bright future is in store for all who took the TVET journey,” Juanillo said.

He said that they have invited partners to provide help for the graduates to advance economically.

“Creating silver linings among Filipinos, is always inspired from men and women who are passionate to help transform the lives of the people,“ the provincial director noted.

Juanillo also asked the local government units, participating companies, industry partners, Association of Technical Institutions of Negros Occidental, and national government agencies for helping the Tesda in making its programs and services more accessible to the clients.

Tesda-Negros Occidental said that World Café Opportunities is an avenue for possible opportunities such as employment, training support and financial assistance to TVET graduates in collaboration with various partners including other government agencies.

Participating graduates are those from the tourism, information and communications technology, and construction sectors, among others. (EPN)
